A professional artist for more than 40 years. A graduate from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In 1963 he became an illustrator for the Military Airlift Command (MAC). In 1968 he served in the Army as a combat illustrator in Da Nang, South Vietnam and while there earned a bronze star. After working for over 32 years Kendall has now retired as a staff artist for the Courier-Journal newspaper in Louisville, Kentucky. He has done record covers, book covers, portraits, greeting cards, illustrations and covers for several newspapers and magazines. He has done over 70 portraits for top sales representatives of the Chrysler Corporation and over 300 portraits of top Ford Motor Co. salespeople. Other clientsa include The University of Louisville, The Saturday Evening Post, The Olympic Games, Sears, Pepsi Cola, VCR and Soft Sector magazines. He is a member of The Plein Air Painters of Kentucky and a member of the Central Kentucky Artist Guild. Kendall has won 7 blue ribbons and best of show at the Kentucky State Fair. He has also won best of show at the Louisville Womens Club, and was elected 6 time artist of the month at the Central Kentucky Artist Guild. He lives in Louisville with his wife, Lynn, and their 3 grown children.
